3. RBI Grade B Officer Interview (Phase III)

  • Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on an aggregate of marks obtained in Phase-II (Paper-I +Paper-II +Paper-III).
  • The minimum aggregate cut off marks for being shortlisted for Interview will be decided by the Board in relation to the number of vacancies.
  • The interview will carry 50 marks.
  • A candidate may opt for interview either in Hindi or English.

Final Selection

  • Final Selection will be through merit list which will be prepared by adding marks secured by candidates in Phase-II examination and interview.

RBI Grade B Officer General Awareness Syllabus

Total Qs – 80 

  • The overall level of General Awareness section is expected to be Moderate. 
  • It is one of the scoring section of the exam.
  • Total 80 questions will be asked in this section.
  • The questions can be asked about various topics which are mentioned below-

1. Banking & Financial + Economic News– Banking Terminology, Recent RBI News like – Monetary policies, Important guidelines, Financial & Economics News, Economics terms, etc.

  • Expected no. of Qs – 25-30

2. Current Affairs – National + International News, Sports News, Awards, Summits & Conferences, Schemes, Agreement & Deals, etc.

  • Expected no. of Qs – 35-40 

(iii) Static GK – Parks, Dam, Thermal Power Plants, Mountains, Temples, Stadiums, Airports, etc.

  • Expected no. of Qs – 10-15 

RBI Grade B English Language Syllabus

Total Qs – 30 

  • The overall level of English Language section is expected to be Moderate to Difficult.
  • This section consists of 30 questions of 30 marks.
  • The questions in this section can be asked from different topics which are mentioned below-

1. Reading Comprehension – 10 Questions (Lengthy) will be based on Economy 

  • Expected no. of set – 1 & 2
  • In 2017, there were 2 sets of RC of 5-5 questions.
  • The topics asked were Economy based such as Grexit, European currencies, Value of currency.
  • There were no vocabulary questions asked in RC topic.

2. Sentence Completion 

  • Expected no. of Qs – 2/3
  • Level – Moderate to Difficult

3. Sentence Correction

  • Expected no. of Qs – 4/5
  • Level – Moderate

4. Fill in the blanks topics (Double fillers)

  • Expected no. of Qs – 3
  • Level – Moderate

5. Phrase/Word Replacement

  • Expected no. of Qs – 3/5
  • Level – Moderate to Difficult

RBI Grade B Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus

Total Qs – 30 

  • The overall level of this section is expected to be Difficult.
  • This section consists of 30 questions of 30 marks.
  • The questions in this section can be asked from different topics which are mentioned below

1. Data Interpretation (Moderate to Tough)

  • Expected no. of Qs – 15

Note:

Type of DI Topics can be asked :

  1. Double Pie-chart DI 
  2. Mixed DI – (Line Graph + Table -Missing Data or Pie chart + Table)
  3. Caselet DI 

Note:

In 2017, Following DI topics were asked in the examination:

  1. Caselet DI –  It was based on the topic of Revenue of railways for three financial years. Its level was difficult.
  2. Mixed D.I. – Line Graph + Tabular D.I.  – In this DI, there were Missing Data. The level of this D.I. was also difficult.
  3. Double pie-chart D.I. –  Two pie charts were given. The level was difficult. This double pie chart was comparatively easy then other two DIs.

2. Quantity I and Quantity II  

  • Expected no. of Qs – 5
  • Level – Easy to Moderate

Note:

In 2017, topics include from this chapter

  • 5 questions were asked from a new pattern Comparison topic in which there was Comparison of two quantities.
  • Quantity I & Quantity II were given. It included topics of  Linear Equation, Quadratic Equation, Boat and Stream, Time and Work and Probability.

3. Miscellaneous Questions

  • Expected no. of Qs – 10

Note:

  • The topics which can be asked under miscellaneous are Simple Interest/Compound Interest, Mixtures/Alligation, Percentage, Quadratic Equation,, Time and Work, Profit, Loss and Discount, Probability, Mensuration and Time, Speed and Distance.

In 2017, topics include from this chapter

  • Remaining 10 questions were asked from Miscellaneous topics(Arithmetic).
  • The miscellaneous questions were very calculative and time-consuming.
  • Simple Interest/Compound Interest, Mixtures/Alligation, Percentage, Quadratic Equation, Time and Work, Profit, Loss and Discount, Probability, Mensuration and Time, Speed and Distance

RBI Grade B Reasoning Ability Syllabus

Total Qs – 60

  • The overall level of this section is expected to be Moderate.
  • Reasoning Ability section consits of 60 questions of 60 marks.
  • Questions will be asked from following topics –

1. Puzzle & Seating Arrangement 

  • Expected no. of Qs – 22-25
  • Types –
  • Linear Seating Arrangement (new pattern)
  • Circular seating arrangement (new pattern)
  • Box Puzzle (new pattern)
  • Floor Puzzle (new pattern)
  • Scheduling puzzle (new pattern)
  • Tabulation (new pattern)

Note:

In 2017, following topics were asked :

  1. Linear Seating Arrangement – Total 6 questions were based on the linear arrangement. In this, there were  Parallel Rows with the person facing in north and south directions. It was based on 12 people and 12 companies. The level was difficult.
  2. A data arrangement of 5 questions was asked. The topic was based on 8 people 8 cities and 4 classes.
  3. There was  Floor based puzzle of 5 questions.
  4. Scheduling puzzle – 5 questions were asked from a month based puzzle which was related to 12 professors teaching six months.

3. Logical Reasoning

  • Expected no. of Qs – 10/12
  • The topics include – Inference, Decision Making Course of Action, Cause and Effect, Strong and Weak Argument, Statement Conclusion, etc.

5. Inequality 

  • Expected no. of Qs – 3/5

6. Coding Decoding – 

  • Expected no. of Qs – 5

7. Syllogism
