Eligibility Criteria for Jharkhand High Court Stenographer:
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognised university and must posses the shorthand typing speed of 100 w.p.m. and the typing speed of 40 w.p.m. in English on Computer.
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2018): Minimum 18 years and Maximum 35 years
Selection Process: Selection of candidates will be made on the basis of Typing Test and Personality Test/Viva Voce.
Application Fee: General/UR/BC candidates have to pay Rs. 500 and SC/ST candidates have to pay Rs. 125 through online mode using Net-banking/Credit or Debit Card.

Detailed Eligibility:

  • Candidates must be Graduate from a recognized University.
  • Having proficiency in English shorthand and in typing. The speed of shorthand would be 100 WPM (words per minute) and typing would be 40 WPM (words per minute) in English on computer with maximum permissible mistakes up to 10%.
  • Candidates must be well acquainted with the computer application.

Age limit(As on 01.01.2018):

  • 18 to 35 years for General category
  • 37 years for B.C.-I and B.C.–II category
  • 38 years for female (General, B.C.-I and B.C.-II)
  • 40 years for S.T. and S.C. category
  • Physically disabled candidates will get a further age relaxation of five (05) years.

Jharkhand High Court – Post wise vacancies: 149 Posts

  • Stenographers (Civil Courts) – 145 Posts
  • Stenographers (Family Courts) – 4 Posts

Pay scale details:

  • Stenographers (Civil Courts): Rs. 25,500- 81,100/-
  • Stenographers (Family Courts): Rs. 19,900-63,200/-

Jharkhand High Court Recruitment Selection Process:

  • The Stenography and Typing Test of the candidates would be taken first.
  • Only those candidates who will qualify for the Stenography and Typing Test would be allowed to appear in the Personality Test/Viva voce test.
  • Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Stenography and Typing Test and the Personality Test/Viva voce test.

Examination fee:

  • Rs. 500/- for UnReserved, B.C.-I & B.C.-II Category
  • Rs. 125/- for SC & ST Category
