#4. Exam Pattern & Selection Procedure – SSC JE Recruitment 2017
- The SSC JE Exam will be conducted in 2 stage:
1. Objective Test
2. Written Test - The Objective Test will be Computer Based & will be conducted for 200 marks for 2 hours.
- It will be conducted from 5th to 8th January 2018.
- There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks.
- The Written Test will be conducted for 300 marks for 2 hours.
- The date of this Stage 2 Exam will be informed later.

SSC or Staff Selection Commission has released the recruitment notification for Junior Engineers for Grade B 2017. Important Points to Remember – SSC JE Exam Pattern
- 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in Paper-I.
- You will be eligible to appear for paper II if you score equal or higher marks than the minimum cut off in Paper I. This cut- off is decided by SSC.
- You should choose your subjects for Part-A, B and C keeping in mind the post you are applying for.
- Your answer sheet will not be evaluated if you fail in the subject you choose.
- After the examination, your answer sheets will be made available to you by SSC.
- If you have any objection, you can raise your objections at that time.
- You can bring your own Slide–Rule, Calculator, Logarithm Tables and Steam Table for Paper-II only.
- No use of such aids for Paper-I.
- You will be selected on the basis of total marks you obtain in Paper I and Paper II.

As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification dated 10.6.2015 published
in Gazette of India all the degrees/diplomas/certificates including technical education
degree/diploma awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the
Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions Deemed
to be Universities under Section 3 of the University Grant Commission Act 1956 and
Institutions of National Importance declared under an Act of Parliament stand
automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the
Central Government provided they have been approved by the Distance Education Bureau,
University Grant Commission.
All candidates who are called for documents verification will be required to produce the
relevant Certificates in Original such as Mark sheets, Provisional Degree/Diploma
Certificate, etc. as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or
before 01-08-2018 failing which the candidature of such candidate will be cancelled by the
Commission. The candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence that the result
of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the cut off date and he/she has been
declared passed, will also be considered to have met the required educational qualification.
ExS who have done various courses from Armed Forces which are certified by Competent
Authority to be equivalent to Diploma in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering are
eligible to appear in the Examination.
7. Mode of payment of fee payable Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
Candidate may note that only online application will be accepted at http://ssconline.nic.in.
Fee paid in respect of online applications through SBI Challan / Net banking and any credit
and debit cards will be accepted.
Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, and Scheduled Tribes,
Physically handicapped and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from
paying fee, as per rules/instructions of Department of Personnel and Training, Government
of India.
Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
8. Details of Regional / Sub-Regional Offices:- Correspondence relating to non-receipt of
Admission Certificate etc and other grievances should be sent to concerned Regional/Sub
Regional Offices, of the Commission.
