RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria
RBI Assistant Qualification
- Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.
- A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.
- Candidates applying for post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.

Selection Process for RBI Assistant Posts
Selection for the posts will be done through:
- ONLINE examinations in Phase – I and Phase – II
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT).
RBI Assistant Exam Pattern
RBI Assistant Prelims Exam Pattern:
- Total Number of Questions – 100 in 3 sections (30 on the English Language, 35 on Maths and 35 on Reasoning Ability)
- Total Marks – 100
- Time – 20 minutes for each section
RBI Assistant Preliminary Exam Pattern 2023
- There will be 100 questions from 3 sections; English language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability
- The time duration of the RBI Assistant Prelims Exam is 60 minutes (each section for 20 minutes).
- There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer, no deduction for unanswered questions.
- The questions will be of Objective type
- Except for English Language, other sections will be in English and Hindi.
- The marks of the Prelims Exam will not be counted in the merit list, as the Prelims exam is qualifying in nature.

- The time duration of the RBI Assistant Mains Exam is 135 minutes. Section-wise timing has been mentioned below.
- There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer, no deduction for unanswered questions.
- The questions will be of an Objective type
- Except for English Language, other sections will be in English and Hindi language.
- Candidates qualifying Mains Exam will be called for Language Proficiency Test and marks will be counted in preparing the merit list.

RBI Assistant LPT 2022
Those who qualify in the mains examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned as detailed below). Candidate not proficient in the Official / Local Language shall be disqualified. The Office wise local language/s is/are as follows:

RBI Assistant Exam Pattern Prelims
The first stage for RBI Assistant 2023 is the Preliminary Examination which consists of three sections- English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks. The duration of the RBI Assistant Prelims Exam is 1 hour (60 minutes) and the marks distribution has been tabulated below-
