Railway Group D Exam Pattern

The first stage exam will contain 100 questions on Maths, Reasoning, Science & GK. Students will be given 90 minutes to complete the exam.

General Science Syllabus for Railway Group D

The general science section comprises of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Life Science of the 10th standard level. This section tests your knowledge of observation from every day to scientific aspects.
Expected Weightage:

RRB Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

After Stage 1 CBT, a merit list of selected candidates (Two Times of the vacancy) will be uploaded on the official site of Railway. These candidates will be called for the next round i.e Physical Efficiency Test (PET). RRB will organize PET to test the physical strength of the candidates. Let us dig deeper into the criterion for PET:

Lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one
chance without putting it down.
Lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one
chance without putting it down.
Running: 1000 metres in 4 Minutes & 15 Seconds Running: 1000 metres in 5 Minutes & 40 Seconds

The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be qualifying in nature. The Person with Disabilities (PWD) candidates are exempted from appearing in this test. However, the next round for PWD candidates will be a medical examination round. Railway Group D Syllabus & Pattern 2018

 

Document Verification (DV)

After PET, the final hurdle will be Document Verification (DV) round. Candidates will be called for Document Verification on the basis of the marks in the first stage computer-based test & their performance in PET. Candidates called for DV will also have to pass a necessary medical fitness test.
