#1. Numerical Ability Syllabus for IBPS Clerk Prelims 2017
You need to ensure that you complete the quant section in 20-25 minutes. Since it won’t be possible for you to solve all 35 questions in 20-25 minutes, you need to ensure you pick the right questions. So the trick is to recognize patterns in questions that tell you how easy or tough it will be.

- Question Types: Average Weight/Height/Age/Marks, Average Money Expenditure, Average Temperature etc.
(6) Interest
- Weightage: 1-3 Qs
- Scoring, Easy if Formulas & Proper Steps Followed, Moderately Time Consuming.
- Question Types: Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Mixed Interest, Installments.
(7) Mensuration
- Weightage: 2-4 Qs
- Easy to Moderate in Difficulty, Moderately Time Consuming, High Accuracy Possible.
- Question Types: Area/Volume of Square, Rectangle, Trapezium, Parallelogram, Rhombus, Circle, Semicircle, Triangle, Cone, Cylinder, Cube, Cuboid. Also, Moulding from one shape to another etc.
(8) Percentage
- Weightage: 1-2 Qs
- Easy to Solve, Less Time Consuming, High Accuracy Possible.
- Question Types: Calculation-oriented basic percentage.
(9) Ratio & Proportion
- Weightage: 1-2 Qs
- Easy to Solve, Less Time Consuming, High Accuracy Possible.
- Question Types: Simple Ratios, Compound Ratios, Componendo and Dividendo, Direct & Indirect Proportions.
(10) Algebra
- Weightage: 3-5 Qs
- Scoring, Easy if Concepts Clear and Steps Followed, Could be Tricky, Time Consuming.
- Question Types: Problems with 2-3 statements and 2-3 conclusions. Questions could be asked on whether the conclusions follow or not.
(11) Profit & Loss
- Weightage: 1-3 Qs
- Scoring, Easy if Proper Steps Followed, Moderately Time Consuming.
- Question Types: Successive Selling type questions, Partnerships, Discount & MP, Dishonest Dealings.
(12) Time, Speed & Distance
- Weightage: 1-3 Qs

(13) Time & Work
- Weightage: 2-3 Qs

(14) Permutation & Combination / Probability
- Weightage: 1-2 Qs
- Less Time Consuming, Scoring, Easy if all cases considered.
- Question Types: Basic Selection & Arrangement Problems, Very basic problems on Probability.
(15) Mixture Problems
- Weightage: 1-2 Qs
- Tricky, Time Consuming, Less likely to appear in paper.
- Question Types: Problems on making a mixture of two or more entities/mixture.

#2. Reasoning Ability Syllabus for IBPS Clerk Prelims 2017
The Reasoning Ability section is always key. Your performance in this section can be the make or break section. Give this section about 20 minutes. DO NOT GET STUCK ON ANY PROBLEM. Just move on if you cannot figure out a problem. Here are the various topics covered under Reasoning Syllabus for IBPS Clerk Prelims 2017.
(1) Arrangement & Pattern

- Question Types: Persons sitting in a row, you have to find the position of a person from left or right or number of persons between them etc. Arranging people by age, height, weight, rank etc.
(7) Circular Seating Arrangement
- Weightage: 5 Qs
- Moderate to Difficult, Moderate to Highly Time Consuming, Moderate to High Accuracy possible, Requires clean charting with proper technique and step-by-step solving.
- Question Types: Uni- & Bi-directional problems on circular, square, rectangular, hexagonal tables. Mostly Unidirectional problems.
(8) Linear Seating Arrangement
- Weightage: 0-5 Questions

#3. English Language Syllabus for IBPS Clerk Prelims 2017
The English Syllabus for IBPS Clerk is pretty much the standard Banking exam fare, except for a few changes in question type here and there. You should not give more than 12-15 minutes for this section.
(1) Reading Comprehension
- Weightage: 8-10 Qs (1 Passage)

IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern: Mains Exam
Major changes have been observed in the Exam Pattern of IBPS Clerk 2017 Exam. The total duration and the number of questions asked in Mains Examination of IBPS Clerk 2017 Exam have been revised. In the latest update by IBPS, IBPS Clerk Mains Exam will now constitute of 190 questions that needs to be completed in a time frame of 160 minutes.
Previously, Computer Aptitude and Reasoning Ability Section used to be conducted separately. But, in the recent update by IBPS, both these sections are amalgamated together and will constitute of 50 questions that needs to be solved in a time duration of 45 minutes.
