AFCAT 01/2024 Batch Notification :  Age Limit as on 01/01/2025

 

AFCAT AGE LIMIT
(i) Flying Branch: Applicant age should be at least 20 years and the upper age is capped at 24 years for flying branch. The upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years.

(ii)Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches: For ground duty, the minimum age is 20 years and the upper age limit is capped at 26 years

Note: Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course. Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible.

 

 

Category AFCAT Qualification
Flying Branch 50% marks in each maths & physics of Class 12 along with a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.ORB. Tech degree from a recognized university with 60% marks or equivalent.ORCandidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch Minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from a recognized University.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum 3 years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks.

 

 

AFCAT 1 2024 Selection Process The selection process for AFCAT 1 2024 consists of three stages: Written Test: Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will appear for an online written exam. The exam will consist of 100 questions and will carry a maximum of 300 marks. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours. AFSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the written test will be called for the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview. The interview will assess the candidates’ suitability for a career in the Indian Air Force. Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the AFSB Interview will undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the medical standards set by the Indian Air Force.

 

 

AFCAT 1 2024 Salary Candidates selected for the Flying Officer post will receive a salary in the pay scale of Rs. 56100 – Rs. 177500 in pay level 10, along with a Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs. 15500. Additionally, flight cadets will receive a fixed stipend of Rs. 56,100 per month during their one-year training period. AFCAT Exam Pattern

The conducting body has divided the AFCAT selection process 2020 into three phases –

Exam Pattern of EKT & AFCAT

  1. The AFCAT is conducted for Non-Technical candidates.
  2. AFCAT is an online exam with objective type questions, having multiple options.
  3. Questions will be in English only and will cover these four sections: Verbal Ability, General Awareness, Reasoning and Numerical Ability and Military Aptitude Test.
  4. The duration of the AFCAT test is two hours. A total of 100 questions will be asked in the question paper carrying weightage of 300 marks.
  5. The EKT exam is Engineer knowledge test. This test is only for candidates who opt for Ground duty technical branch.
  6. Candidates will be given 45 minutes to solve 50 questions in the EKT test. The maximum marks allotted to the exam are 150. The EKT test will carry questions from Mechanical, Computer Science and Electrical & Electronics.

AFCAT Marking Scheme & Important Pointers

  1. For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded 3 marks.
  2. No marks will be awarded or deducted for questions that are left unattempted.
  3. For each wrong answer candidates will lose 1 mark.
  4. Marking two answers for one question will be considered a wrong attempt and will deduct 1 mark.
  5. Questions will be based on the metric system of Weights & Measures wherever applicable.
  6. Candidates are required to secure the minimum qualifying marks to qualify the exam.
  7. The Air Force has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.

AFCAT Exam Pattern – AFSB Interview

AFSB interview stands for Air Force Selection Board Interview. Candidates who are able to score the minimum qualifying marks in the online test of AFCAT exam are called for the AFSB interview round.

Candidates on qualifying the written test are required to log on to the website https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in or https://afcat.cdac.in to choose a date for AFSB interview and venue by themselves and generate call letter for AFSB interview.

The AFSB interview is divided into three stages 

Stage I – This comprises the OIR – Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with PP&DT – Picture Perception and discussion test. Candidates who qualify the screening test of stage I are subject to document verification and eligibility check for the branches they have applied to.

 

AFCAT Paper Pattern for Technical Branch
